Assessment and Complications of the “Difficult” Patient

Many patients walk into the office present with a straight forward sign and symptom picture leading to a straight forward diagnosis and treatment.

We help the great majority of these patients. But, once in a while a “difficult” patient walk in with a not so clear symptom picture.

What kind of tests can we order? What is the interpretation of those tests? And, what treatment options are available? This seminar use a case study approach mixed with literature review and interaction of attendees.

Following the seminar the participant:

  1. will be able to identify a “difficult” patient
  2. order appropriate tests
  3. properly interpret the tests ordered
  4. recommend a treatment approach for the patient
